By the 17th century, it had influenced global textile traditions, shaping French designs like Toile de Jouy, originally printed with Indian wooden blocks before copperplate printing emerged to facilitate mass production.

Kantha embroidery, originating in West Bengal and Bangladesh, is known for its long-running stitches that add texture and depth. Traditionally layered over block prints, it breathes new life into fabrics, turning everyday pieces into works of art.
